Top-Level Achievement! Hangrun Technology Awarded AFRA's Highest ‘Diamond-Level’ BMP Certification for Authorized Disassembly

Recently, the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) of the United States awarded Guangzhou Hangrun Aero-tech Co., Ltd. ("Hangrun Technology") the highest “Diamond Level” certification under its Best Management Practices (BMP) program for authorized aircraft disassembly. This milestone upgrade marks AFRA’s full recognition of Hangrun Technology’s quality management system for aircraft and engine disassembly.

After receiving the Bronze-level BMP KPI certification from AFRA just last year, Hangrun successfully advanced to the Diamond level within a year. This remarkable achievement not only showcases Hangrun’s high level of professionalism in the field of aviation asset recycling but also reflects its ability to manage disassembly and delivery processes with high quality, high standards, and high efficiency, while strictly complying with AFRA’s management guidelines and quality standards.

Under the stringent evaluation mechanisms of the Diamond-level certification, Hangrun successfully passed all assessments in the following categories: the number of reusable parts, total hazardous waste, recycling rate, and energy recovery performance.

Hangrun Technology met the criteria in the following evaluation areas to achieve Diamond certification:

1. Number of Reusable Parts: Total aircraft components returned to market circulation, including those sold directly in AS Removed (AR) condition, as well as those scheduled for repair or overhaul. These typically originate from the OCCM list and Hard Time list of the aircraft.

2. Total Hazardous Waste: Total weight of hazardous waste such as fuel, hydraulic fluid, and lavatory waste.

3. Recycling Rate: The percentage of reusable parts relative to the total number of rotatable parts identified in the aircraft’s Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC).

4. Energy Recovery Performance: Hangrun entrusts reviewed and approved aircraft disassembly suppliers to process hazardous liquid waste. These suppliers can convert 100% of the liquid waste received from Hangrun into recoverable energy through fuel blending procedures.

It is worth noting that Hangrun Technology is actively promoting green, low-carbon, and circular practices through the use of digital and information technologies. Its self-developed aviation asset lifecycle management system currently holds over 30 proprietary intellectual property rights and can comprehensively track and record all stages of aviation asset and component management—evaluation, delivery, maintenance, transactions, and post-lease control—ensuring asset safety and full traceability.

In the long run, AFRA’s certification upgrade highlights Hangrun’s technical strength and professional standards in the industry and has profound implications for the improvement of green disassembly standards both domestically and internationally. With the launch of its quick-turn engine maintenance facility, Hangrun is set to further serve the needs of green manufacturing and circular economy development in civil aviation under China’s dual-carbon goals.

Looking ahead, Hangrun Technology will take the AFRA Diamond-level BMP certification as a new starting point to actively participate in global innovation practices in aircraft and engine remanufacturing, recycling, and reuse. It will continue to deepen its efforts in green disassembly technology development and standard system construction, driving the industry toward greener and more advanced aircraft and engine disassembly worldwide.
